According to new data of the Passenger Car Market Information Joint Conference of China, Tesla sold a record 35,478 electric vehicles in China in March, which including Model 3 was 25,327 vehicles and Model Y was 10,151 vehicles. With the help of the Model 3/Y sales blowout, Tesla took nearly 20% of China’s new energy vehicle market in March.

Analysts believed that Tesla will maintain a strong momentum of development in the next few quarters in China, and its monthly sales will set another record. The current Model Y to be picked up to wait until June, according to official website of Tesla.

The first quarter of this year, Tesla delivered about 60,000 vehicles in China, Analysts estimated that the sales scale of Tesla is expected to 250,000 to 300,000 vehicles in China this year. 

The U.S still remains the largest market of Tesla, and it accounted 48.2% of the company’s revenues last year, while China was 21.1% of its total sales and the second-largest market of the company, but Musk predicted that China will become Tesla’s largest market in the long run.
